So I don't forget

*For the record: I have 5 blisters and 2 black nails (although polish covers them up nicely)

*For the record: my favorite gel in the whole wide world is Chocolate #9...which I can't buy anywhere. I have to order it online :o(

*For the record: Body Glide is one of the world's greatest inventions

*For the record: For the last couple months I have been gaining weight as my miles go up; not losing it. That kinda stinks. My body goes into conservation mode because the milage is too great.

*For the record: I really really want to do the Surf City Half in Huntington Beach on Superbowl Sunday...to say that Brian is not happy about this is an understatement. I still haven't signed up, so I guess I'm not totally convinced it's a good idea either. (my body and the doctor are telling me to rest for a couple months - but what if I rest after that race? its ONLY a half!)

*For the record: my pre-run food of choice is juice and a NuriGrain bar (apple).

*For the record: my during run food is gel, water, and Heed (strawberry) and Enduralytes

*For the record: my after run food is Recoverite - when I'm feeling resposible and do the right thing. When I'm not, my food is a sonic coke and mozzerella sticks! I CRAVE sugar and salt after those super long races...so which should I have my Mom bring to the finish line?! Maybe both?

*For the record: I don't see myself doing another marathon for a very long time...although anyone who has already ran one says I'll change my mind once I cross the finish line.

*For the record: I have decided that running 20+ miles is kinda like childbirth. You feel SO accomplished when it's over that you forget how much pain you were in when you were doing it!

*For the record: My husband might not have been happy with my decision to do a marathon, BUT he went out of his way to make all my training runs happen, said he was proud of me for sticking with it, and has a plan to cheer for me at a few different points along the course. I sure do love that boy!

*For the record: I could NEVER have made it this far without my running partner. Thanks Missy for keeping me company on our long runs. We won't see each other for 2 whole weeks...that should leave plenty for us to chat about on the run. The more we talk, the less we think about how far we have left or how much pain we are in ;o) Last week we were able to talk for about 16 of the 20 miles!

*For the record: there is 2 weeks left till the race and I have no.more.long.runs! The longest one is 8 miles next Saturday - piece of cake.

  2. you are very inspiring and amazing to train for a marathon - every time i see a friend do one - it almost convinces me that i can do it too someday.

    And your friend's may be right about doing a 2nd marathon.. my coworker who is running the Vegas one too is running her 2nd
