R.I.P. Puck
Today we had to put Puck down.
He was having problems going to the bathroom, so we had it checked out. They said most likely an infection from his teeth moved to his kidneys.
It was $2000 to fix his teeth - and even more to fix his kidney (if they could even be fixed)
He was in pain & was getting cranky and had started biting the kids whenever they have food.
Yesterday I went to grab one of their toys out of his bed and he growled, snaped, and bit me - HARD.
All I could picture was him doing that to Brooke and getting her face or something.
So we took him in last night - actually I did. Brian wouldn't go with me, although we both agreed it needed to be done.
I bawled and bawled last night. And today hasn't been much better.
The kids are OK. They are more upset that I'm upset.
I really don't understand why I'm like this - he was a piece of shit. He peed on everything and bit my kids!
But he was my piece of shit and I'm sad for him. Sad of us.

I'm sorry about puck I swear the worse the behave the more you become attached to them because you've had to deal with them and take care of them you know?
ReplyDeleteyou guys made the right decision! That stinks you had to go alone, it's such a weird feeling walking into your house w/ leash / collar and no dog.
Mandi you had no idea he was in pain, and perhaps the biting was him telling you to take him so he could be laid down to rest in puppy heaven and be pain free running around the backyard of GOD.
ReplyDeleteyou loved him and he loves you all.
