Scones

Today I watched Giada make these scones today on her show.

I had a whole bunch of rosemary left over from the other night, so I went to the kitchen to make some (actually I went to the computer to print the recipe, then to the kitchen)

I realized that what I had was fresh thyme not fresh rosemary.

hmmmm.

I thought, thats ok, they will be good without the rosemary.

So I start making them. I get all the dry ingrediants together...

then the wet.  No heavy cream.  crap.  So I microwaved some cream fraiche and mixed it with some milk. problem solved!

But then I didn't have any strawberry jam...so I used apricot.

I'm not a fan of lemon (sorry Mom, I'm just not) so I changed the lemon glaze to vanilla glaze.

In the end I had these:

Not at all her recipe - but still very very good!

And now we have dessert tonight after Brian's parents get here  :o)

Now I need to type up the recipe, so I can remember it for next time!
