It seems since having #3 that's all I do. I am never on top of things. I clean the house only when a certain part becomes unbearable, or someone is coming over (and then I only do the downstairs) Anywhere we go, no matter what time we need to be there, we are rushing till the last minute. 4:30 hits and I am sitting in front of the kitchen deciding what to make for dinner. (same goes for lunch) Bedtime for the girls is whenever we get around to it. It could be anywhere from 7:30 to 9:00. Depending on if I give them a bath and if Brooklynn's needs a bottle. I have decided that this is how its going to be for a while and therefore I'm a lot less stressed. I am also behind on my blog, which drives me crazy. I am not doing a scrapbook for Brooklynn, so it is important for me to document everything here. I don't want to be one of those parents that has everything for the first kid and nothing for the last. Maybe I just need to do a week in review post and not pressure myself to post more often. We'll see.
Swimming lessons are OVER! Although they were very good for the girls, I don't miss the drive everyday for the last month.

Alison practicing floating
Ellie swimming back to the side after jumping in
Al diving down to get a ring
their sorry ribbons...they barely made it homeYeah, they got ribbons
Then he held Brooke for a bit while I picked up the house a little bit. I think we are going to make it a regular thing for the summer. The cousins an play together and I can get a break while Chad helps out a little. Thanks Bro!
Brian finely went back to work. He was home for a week and HATED it. He can't stand sitting around doing nothing. Thankfully there was soccer and golf on, so he was somewhat entertained.
Alison made her own "peanut jelly & sandwich" as she would say. She was so excited to use a knife and do it all herself. We have to work on the clean-up part a bit though ;o)

Why didn't I think of this with the last two? I have been making a whole pitcher full of formula and keep it in the fridge. Now I don't have to mix a bottle every three hours.
Dad wanted to do something with the girls, but isn't too mobile while on crutches, so he made water balloons for them. He filled them up and told the girls to throw them at Puck. Don't worry, they can't throw very far and never hit him.

And last but not least, we have re-found Elefun. We did a sweep of the playroom and the girls' room to give toys to Goodwill. They always find things they forgot they had and it keeps them busy for a few days.

that picture of alison making sandwiches is so cute.
ReplyDeletedo you let them play with those "lost" toys for a few days and then get rid of them? i had to keep the kids away from our donation pile or they would have begged to keep most of it.
I'm laughing cause I can say ditto to almost all of what you said in the beggining of the post. Good idea with the formula! Did you guys see Kung Fu Panda?
ReplyDeleteMissy - My mother in law took the girls when Brian had surgery.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't stress about posting blogs often, I'm sure once a week would be fine...or even when you just feel like you have something you absolutely HAVE to post about like Ellie's carrot/apple story.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures, they look so proud getting their swim awards, and Allison looks happy making her sandwich.
They are so cute, I can't believe how big Alison is now, and Ellie I'm excited to see her this summer and see her in action she is a riot.
ReplyDelete#3, well yes you are right, you just never seem to be on top of it. Now I know why people say after #3 you can have many more because it's always crazy, so true. It's good to see Brian back to work so quickly, he is definately not one to sit around.
Yeah for Chad to come play and help out that is nice having him close I'm sure.
Were getting excited to come, but not to excited because we have to drive with all the craziness in our car.
Allie's hair looks soo cute in the pictures where she is making her sandwich.
ReplyDeleteYou girls are all so cute. Just imagine the lack of time you would have if you were working and going to school still. Crazy. You do a great job Mandi!!
ReplyDeletewhy is it we are always playing catch up... it drives me crazy. you have a way better excuse than i do though.
