First off, of coarse, we started the day with breakfast - LIFE seems to be their favorite right now (I stopped buying all the sugary cereal a few months ago, I just didn't think it was the best way to start the day. Well, the girls don't seem to mind a bit.) Alison has been turning around to share Ellie's tray with her lately (I only let them at breakfast). I figure in a few years these days of sharing and wanting to do everything together will be limited, so while they still want to...

Next came a little homescholing. We are talking about birds this week. Ellie did a bit of coloring while Alison worked on her "B"s, and then her name.

Then we made paper plate owls. I stapled them together and the girls colored. Ellie lost interest at this point, so it was just me and Al.

This is where Ellie's finger is hding most times these days. It drives me nuts. On the way home from California, she gave herself a bloody nose (nice time to be by myself with them) So I had to pull over and clean it up...GROSS!

After "school" we got dressed and headed out the door. They both insisted that they wear flip-flops even though it was only in the 50s. They are SO anxious for summer to get here. Al asks me everyday if it will be warm enough to swim.

Then we hit the library. We had some books that were due that day (nothing like waiting till the last minute)

They love to do the puzzles while we are there. Most of hem are way too easy for Alison though. She is up to 100 pieces now!

We hadn't planned on going, but while we were at the library a kids show was starting in the theater. He actually wasn't very good, but the kids liked him. We missed the best part, the dog doing tricks. We had to leave to take Ellie to dance and missed the end.

When we got to the rec center for Ellie class Alison says "STOP! Ellie, come give me a hug, Im so proud of you going to your first dance class." Talk about melting my heart ;o)

Well, Mom wasn't as on the ball as she'd hoped and after we got to the class, we ere told that it actually started next week. Oh well, she enjoyed dressing in her little outfit.

Next it was lunch, a short nap, then time to clean the house. I figure if I start now, I might have most of the house cleaned by the time my in-laws come next week. Just kidding, but the bathrooms were way overdue. This is Al helping dust the end tables.
Dinner was started and the camera was put away. The rest of the night, the girls danced with their Dad and put on a show for all of their stuffed animals. I actuall feel like we got something acomplished yesterday...
cute. sounds like a fun day at your house!
ReplyDeletegrace just asked this morning if she could go swimming today... we can't wait for summer.
you DID get a lot accomplished. (even some stuff you didn't need to) ;)
ReplyDeletealison is going to be all ready for school. she's such a good big sister.
we've had more than a few nosebleeds in our household for that very same reason. how funny.
WOW SUPER MOM! What a good day! My girls have been wearing flip flops too! Wednesday sounds good. Luke and Ry get out of school at 11:45 and we are just down the street from the park.
ReplyDeleteYour girls are so cute. You sound like super mom like Tanya. Hopefully I can be as good as you two. Are you going to homeschool all the time like Tanya or just now, around preschool age? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteI always love your pictures!! I need to get a better camera so that I can have nice pictures or learn to take them.
Christina-
ReplyDeleteNO NO NO - I am not homeschooling. I barely can stand the preschool stuff and its mostly fun stuff. Its just that the waiting list for preschool is six months to a year, so I wanted to start something.
That was a fun post. I loved seeing the pictures of your whole day. :)
ReplyDeleteI finally have a computer to use!! (Ours is still not hooked up, maybe today. It is a fun post, all of the events of the day. I sure wish you lived closer....
