Its So Easy

I forgot how easy two kids are! Alison is in Utah with Amy and Grandma & Grandpa. Ellie was supposed to go too, but she was seriously misbehaving earlier this week. I know, I know, we are such mean parents. But, Ellie is the one who likes to push the limits the furthest and once we set them, we HAVE to stick to them with her or she gains control rather than us. Trust me, she's good...even at three years old. I can just imagine what she will be like later if she has no consequences now. She cried, I almost cried. It was very sad when Alison drove away and Ellie wasn't able to go. But we gotta stick to our guns or whats the point of having rules?

Ellie has been SO good the last two days. I think it's because she doesn't have to compete with Al. There is no arguing about what cartoon to watch, what to have for lunch, who's turn it is for what toy. Its wonderful. She is going to the hockey game with her Dad tonight, so I don't think she is actually sorry she didn't get to go on the trip. Plus we get to stay home and make funny faces at the camera :o)

If you are my friend on facebook or twitter, then you have seen me talking about my training. I am signing up for the Surf City Half Marathon. Its on Feb 1st, and there are at least seven of us doing it so far. We are all meeting up there from Vegas, Tahoe, Thousand Oaks, Temecula, and even Austraila! So if anyone wants to run it with us just let me know. We have a little email group to keep each other on track and in touch. We are all registering on Nov 2nd so we are in the same heat.
and if your crazy enough to run 13 miles...you might as well enjoy this view along the way...
plus there are bands along the route, and my main motivation is the cool medal you get when you finish!

  5. Cute pics! It makes such a huge difference when just 1 kid is gone.
I think I want to do the half marathon too. Our anniversary is that week so I'm trying to talk Darren into making this our anniversary trip. I have some knee issues to get fixed first, but I think I'm in.
