So Take That Dad

A few months ago Brian told EllieB that if she went poop in the toilet then she could go to Target and pick out a toy (and if she kept going, she could get a bike). Alison has apparently been thinking about this and didn't think that was very fair...she told him a few weeks ago that she poops in the toilet everyday and gets nothing! So Brian thought up something that would be as hard for Alison as pooping seems to be for Ellie. She had to write her first and last name - all by herself - with no help with the letters or spelling.

So about a week and a half later she sits down and asks me how to spell her name. I wouldn't tell her. She got mad. And to get back at me she did it herself! I don't know how she does it...one day she can't do things, the next she can. She did this with counting too, I rarely see her practice, she just does it.

So off to Target Alison and Dad went. They came home with this...
I totally would have talked her into something else, but I suppose that's why she wanted to go with Dad. The crown, sunglasses and shoes are already in the trash, but she loves it and is already asking what she can do for her next toy...oh God, what have we started!

  1. i love it.
    * the way she writes her name so well. good job alison!
    * the fact that you've already thrown out the we're-going-to-go-missing-or-in-a-mouth accessories
    * maybe ellie will see how fun it is for alison to get these rewards and want to try harder.

  2. good job on the writing of her name!

bribery has its good points and bad. it's when the kids figure out how to use it to their advantage is when it is not as good as an idea.

    hopefully ellie will get it!
