One of Our Favorite Christmas Gifts

Brian's parents got the girls bunk beds for Christmas. And my parents got us the mattresses and comforters (Christmas sheets courtesy of Aunt Sue) With a new baby on the way, we figured it was time to get Ellie out of the crib. I was DREADING this, as Ellie is my strong willed child. I thought that now that she can get up whenever she wants, she would do just that. But to my surprise she has done awesome. They both go right to bed and Ellie even naps well.
Our only minor problem is that Alison likes to fall asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow (like her Mom) Ellie like to stay up and sing or talk to herself (like her Dad - well he doesn't sing, usually) I will hear Alison yell "MOM, tell Ellie to stop talking!" So I do, and she does - for about 30 seconds. I think it's cute and like to sit outside her door and listen to her process her day. She even counted to 10 last night, which we barely got Alison to do. I wanted to go hug and high five her, but at the same time I didn't want to disturb her. Its just how she winds down.
We have already had out first "accident". Ellie fell off the top bunk because Alison "accidentally pushed her". She was fine and climbed right back up. We have a "no playing on the top bunk" rule, but it seems to be followed as much as the other rules...sporadically.
*why is it that I create paragraphs and Blogger crams them all together? So frustrating...do I need to use an html break?

  1. i love bunk beds, except for the falling off the top part. Scary.

That would be pretty cute to hear Ellie in there talking and singing.

I used to have the "no paragraph" problem too. Don't know how to fix it. I would try the HTML though.

  3. My girls share a room too and there are many nights I have to take Ry out to sleep in my bed cause Chloe is such a chatter box. They are cool beds though!

  5. Hey Mandi. I love the bunk beds. We have some and thought about putting them up, but ours look a little higher off the ground...I saw broken bones in our future if we set them up. Anyway, I'm glad Ellie and Alison are enjoying them. As for the paragraph break, you have to do it in the HTML.
