And it was quite an event. I first aligned with Edwards (knowing he wouldn't win, but I still support him) I was the only person in the room that wasn't in Obama's or Clinton's corner, there weren't even any undecided in the room. All of the hype on the news was right about there being pressure to join another group. Its pretty intimidating being the only person sitting alone.
Then, obviously there weren't enough people for Edwards to get a delegate, so I had to realign. Wow, talk about chaos. There are 15 minutes allotted for the people for the other candidates to talk me into their candidate. They started getting nasty with each other, and yelling at me. I was just sitting back and laughing. I finely told them that I had anticipated this to happen and had done my research for a back up choice so they could save their breath. All of the arguing wasn't going to get me to change my mind. I realigned with Obama, and one side started cheering and one side started booing me. Interesting process, but weird at the same time. Each candidate ended up with 3 delegates in my precinct, and I don't believe my one vote swayed that either way, but they acted like it was crazy important.
I got there at 11 and we didn't get out till 1, so I was starving! Clinton ended up winning Nevada anyway, but I'm glad I went and got to see it all in person and how it unfolds. I didn't intend to make it so dramatic (when I got there, there weren't that many people in the room yet, so I didn't realize I would be the only one.) but it just turned out that way. Fun stuff.
that is pretty interesting, kind of funny and very scary.
