There are some milestones that I consider super important that never seem to make it into the baby books. Granted I am only up to five years worth, as my oldest has only been here that long. In honor of those 5 years, here are the top 5 that stand out the most to me:
1. Putting their feet in their mouth. I don't know why I find this so stinkin cute, but it is!
2. holding their own bottle. I never realized how convenient this was until I had a baby that wont do it! Especially in the car.
3. Pushing their arms and legs through their clothes on their own. This makes it SO much easier to get them dressed...(as opposed to the stage where I am at now when she just wants to flip over while trying to get dressed.)
4. When they can wipe their own bootie (and do it right)! ...Thanks Pam, definately a major milestone that you don't see in baby books!
5. Putting on their own seat belt. I secretly long for the days when I'll be able to just close the doors and go. Rather than opening the passenger's door to to dump my diaper bag and purse, opening the back door, buckling in the baby, walking around to the other side, opening the door for Alison and Ellie to climb in, buckling up Ellie, then getting in myself and buckling up. Having at least one kid that can buckle themselves is great though.
What are your favorite "milestones" that seem to have been left out?
when you no longer get the "butt wipe" page and when you can send them to the shower alone:O) Those are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI love all of those!!
ReplyDeleteI love that Luke gets himself up and ready in the morning. He even feeds himself. Can't wait for the girls to do that.
Oh Pam, you are so right...Im changing it!
