Our Valentines Day

Alison had been talking about having strawberry pancakes for breakfast for a few days, so I finely asked her who she thought was making the for her..."My Dad". I informed Brian of his oldest daughters expectations and he quickly decided to take us all to IHOP for breakfast. Alison got her strawberry pancakes. Before we left, we all exchanged cards and Dad got the girls some huge packs of stickers as well.

I went for a run while Brian put up our new coach lights. When I got home Brooklynn was asleep and the girls were playing in a pop up Dora tent in the front yard.
Ellie has been sick since Wednesday and ran out of steam pretty quickly

I started on dessert:Off to the grocery store to pick up some steak and potatoes for our family valentines dinner. As I was walking to my truck, my friend Erin stopped by with some valentines cookies and cupcakes! Thanks girl, they were so yummy.

Dinnertime rolled around and Brian did everything on the grill, so I sat down and watched a little Iron Chef while he did all the work. Al was so disappointed that we didn't have any Valentines decorations, so I surprised her and bought red cups and plates for dinner...not exactly decorations, but she was happy. Dinner was rib eye, baked potato, yellow squash, and some bell peppers. Mmmmmmm

I was looking for a funny card for Brian because he doesn't like sappy ones, but ran across this one and it was just so perfect that I had to get it:

At the end of another busy day

when the chaos is

finely under control,

at least for the night,

and we look around

at the always crazy,

never perfect life we're living...

that's when I'm the happiest-

because it's you and me

in this lovely, messy happiness together.
