1. I am spending WAY too much time on blogs related to quilting. I think I might make one, just a small one, maybe for Ellie's dolls. Or maybe one for Miss Maddie's birthday. I need to just DO IT instead of thinking about doing it. This is the one I am going to start with...but not so much pink ;o) I do need two new feet for my machine though...where do I buy those?
*speaking of my machine - I took it in to get fixed...the bobbin was in backwards and it didn't like the kind of thread I was using. They were nice enough to point this out while I was there, no charge. Guess I need to stick to one brand of thread...who knew?
2. I have a very sexy farmers tan from my outdoor runs. When do our weekly water park outings start? I need plenty of time to find a swimsuit and get this lovely tan evened out a little.
3. I hate Reno...oh and Winnamucca too. (or however you spell it)
4. I dumped Ellie's preschool because it was too much for my schedule...but then I replaced it with another day of gymnastics and a playgroup...why do I do this to myself?
5. I do not like the time change.
Getting up on Monday at 6:00 (really 5:00) to take B to the airport was rough
Soon my kids will have to get ready for bed when it is still light out
I have been starting dinner late, because it just doesn't feel like dinner time
When BabyB wakes up, it's still dark...ugh
I swear my body thinks it's more than an hour...I have been dragging all week
6. Brian and I are going to tile and hardwood our master bedroom! My Daddy finished our taxes and because B keeps forgetting to change his dependants from 2, we are getting a very nice return. I'm thinking dark warm tones...but then our furniture wont match...you know what that means...Ill just have to talk him into it ;o)
7. We were supposed to go to the Grand Canyon this weekend, to go on that glass bottom look out. Their web page says it costs $25. Expensive?Yes. But we thought we would do it once in our life, and that it would be super cool to be standing that high up looking through the glass (plus all the kids would still be free ;o) Then Brian Googled it and read some reviews. They all said that the $25 turns into $75 because of all the fees and "tours" that they make you take. You can't just go on the look out. lame. So then we were going to spend a night in Zion, but B has to fly out again on Sunday...so now I think we are going to hike and picnic in the Vally of Fire for the day.
8. We found a scorpion in the downstairs bathroom, a little baby one. Actually Alison found it and freaked out, crying, yelling (all with her pants around her ankles because she was about to go pee :o) Ellie wanted to catch it "because I'm brave Dad. I'm not scared of a little bug!".
9. I hit the 100 mile mark with my running this week! I know that's probably only exciting to me. But it's kind of motivating to know that since Christmas I have run over 100 miles.
My Mother-In-Law is huge into quilting. She has a quilting sewing machine that takes a huge part of the basement. She even does conventions. She does make beautiful quilts though.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome 100 miles. Every time, I finally get into a jogging routine.. something happens to my body.. grrr.. this time the left ankle.
Have fun on your trip!
i may be alone on this but having kids at the grand canyon freaks me out. it may be different on that side of the rim...but there were no fences in most areas. i was so ready to leave after about 5 minutes.
ReplyDeletehope you have fun hiking instead :)
Jen,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree...thats why we aren't going now that we can't afoord the enclosed walkway ;o)
I think 100 mile mark is exciteing I haven't jogged in 2weeks.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I will be doing the next 1/2 marathon I'm too out of shape. I need to start jogging again. its such a pain having to take each dog out separately and jog takes up too much time.
that's scary abo the scorpion...did you explain to ellie that a scorpion is a dangerous little bug?
you always seem busy... I gues I'll see what it is like to have 2 or 3 one of these days.
Congrats on the 100 mile mark, What a great accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteYAY on the 100 miles!!
ReplyDeleteyuck about the scorpion. i'm sure i would do the same thing alison did. :)
i always forget when the water park opens. i think it's on a three-day weekend. ??
