Saturday - My Mom and I went to my friend Erin's Arbonne Party. Mom bought eye shadow, I bought some face moisturizer. It felt amazing, but it's kind of expensive so I'm secretly hoping I don't love it ;o) (although Erin said she'd give me a discount when I reorder). Next we went to pick out fabric for some pillows that I am making...found the perfect fabric, but didn't buy it because I hadn't bought pillow forms yet. Didn't know how much to buy, and it was kind of expensive. I made chicken lettuce wraps & fried rice for dinner.
Sunday - Didn't make it to church. Too many people and not enough time to get to the early service. Brooklynn and I went to Noah's 1st birthday party! He was so cute, and wanted nothing to do with his cake. While we were gone, Brian, my Mom and the big girls went for a hike in Red Rock. Even though there was snow on the ground, they loved it. They both hiked all the way to the waterfall on the Icebox Canyon trail with no help. Chad, Nichole and AJ came over to join us for dinner. Brian BBQed tri tip, potatoes and veggies & my Mom made a salad. So good.
Monday - My Mom watched the girls while I went to a doctors appointment. I have no idea what we did the rest of the day...can't remember.
Tuesday - I took my Mom with me to my Small Group, had lunch at Arby's, and dropped the kids off at school. Introduced my Mom to Ms. Heather and raced home. Brian got off work a tad early and we hit the road. We stopped in Beatty, of course, to buy candy, and stopped in Tonapah to grab some dinner in the car. We arrived in Mammoth at about 7:30. Brian's Aunt has the most amazing condo and we are SO grateful to her and all the Trkja's for letting us use it!
Wednesday - Ate breakfast and hit the slopes. Bought our lift tickets ($212 each for 3 days - not as bad as we thought it would be), and got on the lift. I'm always nervous on the first run (even though I've been snowboarding for 15 years). Made it down with no problems and had a great day, except for the weather. It was windy and cloudy. So cloudy that we couldn't
t see two chairs in front of us. We went out to Mexican food for dinner, which perfectly hit the spot...I was craving. We called the girls before dinner to say goodnight and got some bad news...Alison had been stung by a bee and Dana, our fish had died :o( Dad told her that she could get a hamster now though.
Thursday - Steve met us at the condo in the morning, with breakfast in hand. It was still windy, but not as foggy. Those of you that know me, know that I HATE cold. So I was not enjoying the wind AT ALL. I only boarded half the day. It was nice to just sit in the condo by myself, reading a book, and enjoying the fire. Nothing extreme happened at home, thank goodness.
Friday - The weather was perfect, so I decided to try skiing. Brian used Steve's skis and I used Brian's. OMG - it is SOOOOOOOO much easier to learn to ski. I did pretty darn good for my first time. Brian thinks I will be a way better skier than snowboarder, so he is getting me skis (and all the gear to go with it) for my birthday this month :o)
Saturday - We headed home, and I was happy to see my girls. I missed them :o) My Mom made dinner, we got the kids to bed, then her and Brian went to play some Blackjack. She came out even, he won.
Sunday - First Istarted the day with a 5 mile run, then we headed to church. Then we stopped to get sandwiches to take to the park for a picnic. My Mom sat on the blanket with Brooklynn while everyone else went to the playground. When we got home, Brian put Brooklynn and Ellie down for a nap, he and Al went outside to do yard work, and my Mom and I went to Joann's. We were gone a good 2.5 hours, but did a lot of browsing and some buying. Mom bought me my birthday gift...a mat and rotary cutter. I bought 4 pillows, that I am going to cover, fabric for pillows for the girls, patterns to make them each a dress, fabric for the dresses, and backing fabric for my pillows, and thread. We couldn't decide where to eat for dinner, so we threw a bunch of names in a bucket and had Alison pick...Claim Jumper came out. But then no one really wanted that, so we picked again...Carrabbas.
Monday - started some laundry, and then my Mom went over the patterns for the dresses with me. I have never made anything, so she gave me a bunch of tips. We then took the girls to gymnastics. It was Alison's first day in her new class...another post about that soon. Uncle Chad met us there, and joined us for lunch afterwards. Then to kill time before my Mom had to be a the airport, we went to the outlet stores. Grandma bought Alison 2 new leotards (to be modeled at a later date ;o) and got herself some pyrex. We were all sad to see Grandma leave at about 2:20 :o(
Now Brooklyn is crying at my feet...Al and Ellie are watching Tinkerbelle...Brian is trying to rest since he has to leave for Kingman at 11pm...and I'm gonna go fix some dinner for this hungry crew!
Sounds like you had a good time and a busy week!
