black eyes, flowers and date night

Friday before I left to go out with Jamie and Jodie I totally clocked Ellie in the face with the car door. Her head snapped back, she fell backwards and hit the back of her head on the driveway. Now the poor kid has a black eye! When her Dad got home she tells him "look at my poor little eye, Mom hit me", in the saddest little voice you've ever heard. I sure felt bad.Saturday is my day to get up with the girls. We try to have the TV set to cartoons before we go to bed, so all they have to do is turn on the TV, and maybe we'll get to sleep a little longer. Ellie always has other plans and we have to get up. Elllie came in and got me, when I got out of the bathroom this is how I found the girls. The TV is on the wall right above them. I suggested that they move back a little, but Alison says "this is how we like it". OK - off to the couch for me to rest some more. They had all their chairs set up in rows also, so I asked them what that was all about. She said they were waiting for her babies (stuffed animals and dolls) to wake up, then they would be going to California.

After soccer and lunch I went to get my hair done. Its only been 4 weeks, but I figured Id rather get it done before I go to California than after. I also went to get my toes done. I told Brian that after the leg massage they did for the pedicure and after my shampoo, he was off the hook for a few days ;o) When I arrived home, these beautiful flowers were waiting for me!

While I was gone the girls tried to play in the Dora sprinkler for a little bit. The weather was nice, but the water was still a tad too cold for them to enjoy it.

That evening was "date night" for Brian and Alison. All day, she would tell whoever would listen that she was going on a date with her Dad. He took her to the last game of the regular season of the Wranglers hockey team. She LOVED it. Well she loved the snacks and the fact that she got to stay up late! Brian said she did good and sat and watched most of the game.
Now her Dad is her new best friend-he can do no wrong. Today she was helping me sweep the garage out (why this HAD to be done, I don't know, but I HAD to do it - it was bugging me) and she says "Mom, Im not sweeping to help you, Im sweeping so Dad will be happy the garage is clean." Hey whatever, as long as the kid is cleaning I don't complain!

While they were gone, Ellie and I hit up a new frozen yogurt place called Yogels. You serve yourself as much yogurt as you want, pile on your toppings, and then pay by the oz. We got a huge one for only $2.75 (which we shared - Ellie picked sprinkles and mini gummy bears for toppings).

  6. I can't believe it's warm enough (almost) to have sprinklers on for your kids. I'm so jealous!! It snowed here today. Anyway, it sounds like quite a week for you. Hope you're doing well!
