But for the record I wanted to get it on here...
Good news...Ellie has been diaper free for two days! On Thursday she went all day with no accidents (we stayed home all day - which is hard for me, I get cabin fever very quickly) Then when Brian came home he asked her if she had to go, of coarse she didn't. About 5 min later I told them to wash up for dinner...as soon as her hands hit the water, it was over. (I'm glad I was fixing dinner still...Brian had to clean it up ;o) She was afraid to poop all day though. She has had issues in this area (even with a diaper on) so it's been a real struggle.
Yesterday at about 8am, Alison yells downstairs "MOM, ELLIE IS GOING POOP!". I go up a few minutes later to change her and to my surprise she had gone on the potty! She immediately wanted to call Daddy and Grandma Lashmett. I thought it was kind of funny that Brian was in the office and had to get "excited" about pooping. We put panties back on, and she had only one accident all day...again it was water related, we were waiting for the shower to warm up. We even went to Babie's R Us and she told me she had to go. She made it all the way to the back of the store...she was so excited they had a short little potty for kids.
This morning her pull up was dry and she jumped on the potty by herself! I hope we are turning a corner...don't want to get my hopes up too high though :o) I know this is only exciting to me and maybe Grandma, but you Moms out there know what a relief it can be to get through this stage! I would really love to only have one in diapers at a time! Brian calculated that we will have 7 years straight of diapers. (although I'm hoping for a break for the next 4 weeks ;o)
YAY!! That is great! Even just a 4 week break is nice. It's funny, we got Chloe a potty seat this week and she has been showing alot of interest. I don't think I'm ready yet!(Maybe cause I get cabin fever too)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work Miss Ellie (and Mom)!!
ReplyDeleteI'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Yay!! I've heard potty training can be difficult. So many things to not look forward to when having kids ;).
