UGH! (i have a lot of this title lately)

I was ran out of diapers/pull ups for Ellie yesterday, so I thought it was as good of time as any to force this issue of pooping on the toilet (or potty). I refused to get her a diaper so....she held it. For two days! She was miserable today. So super cranky and her tummy was hurting. She asked me at 10am yesterday for a diaper and I held out...until tonight. I caved and went to CVS and bought some pull ups. She would sit on the potty for a second then FREAK out. Can you get poop poisoning? She is so scared. Anyway one point for Ellie, zero for Mom.

  1. oh man. that's tough. i remember one of my kids holding it for too long. i just had to hold them on the potty and then they finally had to let it all out.... are we really talking about this? haha.. good luck to both of you.

  3. I've known a lot of friends with kids who have had this problem. Heck I babysat one of them...no fun!
Have you tried sitting her backwards on the toilet and letting her read a book?
My sister-in-law would have to give her boy coffee and set him on the potty.

  4. not lookign forwarad to this... hopefully maddie doesn't have this problem. she HATES poop in her diaper so i'm hoping that she will potty train easily.

sitting backwards sounds itneresting, I'd try that. Maybe she can use the back of the toilet as a table to color in a coloring book.

maybe set up a little portable dvd player and have her watch a movie till she poops. have her watch everybody poops.

  6. We're living this with Landon right now too. He's pooped a few times in the toilet, but he's decided he's afraid now, so he'll hold it until we put a pull up on him at night time. But I've decided no more...so we'll see how he does. Tell me if you find a magic trick...this is so not fun!
