Homemade Christmas

I tried to make a lot of my gifts this year. Not because it would save money (because fabric & supplies are pretty expensive these days) but just cuz I wanted too ;o)

This is the table runner I made for my Mom...its 9ft long to fit on her dining room table when it's fully extended (like for her 4th of July party) I wanted it red white and blue, but I didn't want 'patriotic' fabric. I used a disappearing 9 patch for the pattern and I LOVE the way it turned out.

Here is another table runner I made for Aunt Debbie...you can see that pattern of the disappearing 9 patch a little better. One side is Thanksgiving colors...
and the other side is Christmas colors.

The big girls are outgrowing their "blankies". They no longer fit under them at bed time, so I made them some new ones. They are really simple fleece blankets. Brooke wants nothing to do with hers, but the other two love theirs.

I had this great idea to make little dolls for each of the girls. This is what I ended up with. I was NOT happy at all how it turned out and was about to throw it away when Alison freaked out saying I COULD NOT THROW IT AWAY! So Al rescued her and loves her.

I made a million of these squares (OK, I might be exaggerating)

sewed them together to make these.

And this is the finished project! A quilt for Brian's Mom!
For all the kids on Brian's side, I made these crayon rolls...the 3 pink & green ones are missing because I did them last minute (I forgot about my own kids!)
I had SOOOO much more planned and if you saw all the bookmaks I have for projects I want to do, it would probably make you sick. I have a few half done projects that need to get done for the next round of holidays/birthdays. I have been on a sewing break for a little while, but will start up again here shortly!

  5. This is JenG....and those crayon rolls are friggen amazing and so adorable, and when the girls get tired of them as they move up to pens, you could put make-up brushes in them, no?
