Brian and I have been noticing that she was holding her books super close to her face. We would move it back and she would put it right in front of her face again...so I took her to the eye doctor. She was a trooper. She has seen me go a lot of times, so she knew what to expect. She breezed through the exam and was SO happy when he finely said that she did need reading glasses. Me happy? Notsomuch. I think we tried on every single pair of kids glasses they had and ended up with some super cute Disney Princess ones! (they don't have any character on them!) It's hard to tell from the picture, but they are black on the front and pink on the back.
they came with this cute case...of course she LOVED it! Dr. Grant gave us $100 off since we don't have insurance...thank goodness - glasses are expensive, even kids glasses!
I'm glad she can see now, but sad that she needs the glasses. Dr. Grant said that for now it's just reading glasses, but he expects her to need them all the time in the future....this is just the beginning. I'm sad because it's the beginning of all the hassles (for her, not me) of dealing with glasses. I needed glasses starting in 5th grade and my Mom let me get contacts the very second I was old enough. It's pain to do anything water related, a pain to play sports, a pain to keep track of them. Sorry baby- it seems you've got my eyes...I promise, as soon as you can wear them I'll get you contacts - just like Grandma let me!
cute. :)
ReplyDeleteyes, i had no idea they cost as much as they did. that was nice that they gave you a lovely discount.
awe...she looks super studious! I am sorry for the hassle that she is about to entail and the heartache you are already having, but she is strong like her mommy, so all will be good girl!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh! She is the most adorable thing ever. So cute in glasses:)
ReplyDeleteShe looks darling!! She will be fine with them. Tell her Grandma loves them!
