Where did 2009 go? seriously. My baby is 19 months old and I have no idea how in the world that happened! I haven't done a real blog post in FOR_EEVVVEER...so here it is... countdown style...
10. I caught up on a lot of stuff, so if you don't use Reader, and want to see all that I added, you might have to scroll back to Thanksgiving. I put it all in the blog where it 'should have' been - mostly just for my 2009 blurb book ;o)
9. Brian came home Thurs and announced we were having a BBQ sat. I have to admit, I was kinda pissed. He had already invited people before he even mentioned it to me. My parents were here Thurs-Mon, then his parents + Amy were here Tues - Fri night. That leaves me a few hours to get down the Christmas decorations, get the mess picked up, the house cleaned, food bought and made - and I was pretty sick from Wednesday on. BUT - It was a great way to force myself to get the house back in shape, and I had a lot of fun - so it was totally worth it. After the fact, I was glad we did it!
8. Brooke has learned to use a cup. I was being WAY lazy and giving her sippy cups all the time. She still get them, just not at dinner. Tonight she used a regular cup through the whole meal and only dribbled a tiny bit.
7. It's a new year and I feel like I should have resolutions, but I don't.
6. I'm one month into my "rest period" from running. Half way done. I'm cleared for cardio again (from the IT band injury - totally separate from the stomach issues) so I plan to run tomorrow!
Here is the race schedule I plan to follow - finances permitting!
Jan 16 - 5K (Vegas - $25-35)
Feb 20 - 5K (Vegas - $25-35)
Mar 16 - 6 tunnels half marathon (Vegas - $50)
May 28 - Laguna Hills half marathon (Cali - $50)
Jul 4 - 5K (Vegas $25-35)
Aug 21 - ET full moon half marathon (area 51 @ midnight - $65)
Oct 17 - Long Beach half marathon (Cali - part of my California dreamin series - $70)
Nov 20 - 10K (Vegas - $25-35)
Dec 5 - Rock N Roll half marathon (Vegas - $135)
I was shooting for at least 1 race per month, but didn't quite make it. I wanted at least 2 months between halfs and I fall a little short of that in the fall, but I'm ok with it. My goal is to eventually get under 2 hours for the half...so hopefully December is THE race. I think if I work hard, its not out of the question...then I'll be in a good position to run the Surf City full in Feb 2011. Yes, I really am thinking that far ahead ;o)
5. Brian is still not happy that I am running - hopefully he gets over it, because as you can see above - I plan to run a lot!
4. Ellie is back to baseball & gymnastics as her two sports. soccer didn't make the cut. I was sad, but I want her to do what she wants.
3. My Mom and Brian's Mom were trying to teach me how to crochet. I'm still practicing a lot. I keep losing track of my stitch count and line count! plus it's very hard to see where I'm supposed to put the hook...the pictures just don't look like the mess I have on my hook!
2. I was originally going to give up soda after my race...then it was after Christmas...then Jan 1st. Now I think I should just give up giving it up! I am almost down to my goal weight...or boob-job weight as we like to refer to it around here...Brian always said if I got back down to my pre-wedding weight, I could get boobs. 4 pounds to go, but we can't afford it now, and I think it would make it hard to run...so why give up the Sonic Cokes? Sonic vs. boobs - hmmmm...
1. I have about 50 sewing projects saved in 'favorites'...maybe I'll start working on 2010 Christmas gifts now...then I might not be sewing till the very last minute of Christmas eve (or later)?! naw - I probably still will!
