This Week

Monday:

*Took the girls to "ABC art" at the rec center...worked on letters "G" (made a gumball machine) and "H" (made hot air balloons). "I" came home for "homework"
*Went to Jason's Deli for lunch. I was craving a huge salad and didn't feel like driving to Sweet Tomato. It hit the spot.
*While in Boca Park, I walked over to Tilly's to buy some new flip-flops. My black ones have disappeared. Some little hands hid them somewhere and can't remember where. Ive given it over 2 weeks and still I can't find them, so I forked over the $12 for new ones. (they're cuter anyway ;o)
*Needed to get an oil change, but I hate waiting for them when I have the girls SO..I took it to Walmart, so we could walk around while they worked on the car. I hate Walmart, but it's better than waiting in a small waiting-room at other places.
*Did a bit of food shopping. Made a menu, and I swear I spend more when I do that...I need so many more ingredients when I plan each meal :o)
*Did some laundry - it's pathetic how few clothes I have that fit now. I'm even wearing Brian's work-out shorts around the house so I can stretch more days out of my jeans!
*Mike, our neighbor helped Brian bring our new chair up to the baby's room. That poor little room is packed with furniture now. But most of it (besides the crib) has multi-purposes once the baby isn't a baby.
*Had breakfast casserole on the menu for dinner, but Brian says his stomach can't handle eggs tonight SO...I am making manicotti, garlic bread and fresh green beans (as opposed to out of a can) while he is at PT. Hopefully he will eat it because I'm sure the girls won't have much.

Tuesday:
*Cleaned two pairs of poopy undies this morning before we left the house...at least we were at home.
*Took Alison to gymnastics and entertained Ellie for an hour while we waited for her. Her teacher said she is doing great and suggested we move her up a level next time. She also got invited to try out for the "team" but we are going to pass on that. I don't think we're ready to be trying out for sports yet...still a little young at 4.
*Went to Rubios for lunch...the girls kids meal looked way better than my enchiladas. It came with a churro too, next time I think Ill order that instead!
*went to pay my endo bill. My biopsy was in Oct. and we just got billed for it. They don't take credit cards, so I had to go and pay by check because I wanted a receipt. They are SO disorganized that I don't trust to mail it in...they'd probably lose it. As it is, it probably wont get cashed for a few weeks.
*Came home and Ellie crashed. I tried to lay down, but Alison kept running in to tell me about the latest infomercial she saw on Nick Jr. Today it was a layer of sod you lay down and flowers grow out of it...other days its the green bags that preserve veggies, muddy puddy (or something), or a purse where you can organize everything.
*Was excited to get a package from Similac in the mail...free formula is ALWAYS great! And I got 4 of the $5 checks to buy more.
*I made Kung Pao Chicken and Fried Rice for dinner, with a side of fresh strawberries. The girls hated all of it but the fruit, and Brian said it was "OK". I really liked it, but I'm not going to make it again for just me, so into the trash the recipe went. I hate it when I try something new and no one likes it...seems like such a waste. But it's better than having the same things over and over I guess.
*watched some TIVOd CSI while Brian watched basketball...anyone else disappointed this season. So far pretty lame episodes.
*I had pretty bad contractions today...I could have sworn I was going to go into labor they were so uncomfortable, but they stopped. Which is good...I still need to clean this house before I'm ready for a baby to be here! I have cleaning planned for Thursday...

Wednesday
*Took the girls to ABC art. They made a Jellyfish for 'J' and a kitty for 'K'.
*Came home and gave them Lunchables for lunch. Brian hates them because he thinks they are so unhealthy, but I don't think it's any worse than fast food, hotdogs or quesadillas. Plus I don't have to "fix" anything. Just open it up and send them outside :o)
*Dropped the kids off at Brian's office while I went to the doctor. I really don't like taking them to the visits when they do an exam. I am now 3cm! Getting closer, but it really doesn't mean anything, I was 3cm with Ellie for 2 weeks. He did say the induction looks promising though.
*Came home and was going to start dinner, but lets just say I wasn't up to standing in the kitchen after the exam. Not comfortable the rest of the night.
*Brian went to Lowes to pick up some blinds we had to special order and brought back Subway for himself. The girls had leftover spaghetti and I had what else but cold cereal!
*Brian goes to jump in the shower while I put the girls to bed AND - - - - - NO HOT WATER. Ugh. He spends about 20 minutes working on it, but the pilot light wont stay lit. Cold shower for him, no shower for me. Id rather wait and fight the cold water in the morning...

Thursday
*Woke up with no hot water still, so I looked online for repair men. I called Brian to tell him I found a couple places and was going to call. He said that he had already bought the part, so I looked up on Google what to do and it seemed easy enough. I took my cold shower and wouldn't you know Brian came home half an hour later and installed the part. If I had just been a little lazier I could have had a nice warm one o)
*With nothing we HAD to do, I decided I should clean my house a bit. I got through the downstairs and then made the mistake of sitting down for lunch. There was no way I was going to get going again.
*I started dinner just after lunch...Chicken in a Merlot mushroom sauce in the crock pot.
*There was a nice surprise in the mail for Hiccup and Alison! Hiccup got a few pacifiers, a sleeper and some socks from Grandma, and Alison got new undies! She was so excited to get some mail!
*The rest of the day I just sort of slobbed until dinner. Added some cheesy Orzo and fruit to go with my chicken and fed the girls while Brian was at PT.
*As soon as he walked in the door I told him there was warm food for him and I left for Jodie's. She had a friend of hers, Jen Rose, come over and show us how to do makeup. Jen is a professional makeup artist and works on all kinds of shows and commercials and movies...I got an 'evening look' that turned out really nice. We were able to ask her all sorts of questions about product and technique. It was a lot of fun, and also nice to get out of the house around other women :)
*When I got home, my husband was typical Brian..."That's a lotta crap on your face". Love you too babe!

Friday
*Another wasted day. Didn't get anything done around the house at all...I had intended to clean upstairs, but had lots of contractions and just didn't feel well. Talked to my Mom who said not to worry about it, she would help when she gets here in about 10 days.
*I took the girls to the park for an hour after lunch because they were driving me crazy. Bickering and whining all morning...I think they get cabin fever also.
*After the park I watched last night Grey's and tried to lay down. Ellie wouldn't nap, therefor I don't nap.
*I thought about making dinner, then decided I didn't want to, so I sat back down and watch Tom on Oprah that I had TIVOd. Lame.
*Today was Ellie's turn for mail...she got two packages of underwear from Grandma for being a big girl and using the toilet (well she pees at least...still working on the poop)
*Brian got home from work and made tacos for dinner. They were SOOOO good and totally hit the spot.

*At about 6:15 Alison and I headed over to the Rainbow library to see Rachel from 'Signing Time'. Alison watches her show every day and was so excited to meet her. We pull into the parking lot a half hour early and it is so unbelievably crowded. Seriously there must have been over 100 cars there, all lined up and down the street as well as double parked in the lot. People were carrying camp chairs in and there were security guards directing traffic. I had NO IDEA it would be that popular. I figured there would be no seating inside and I wasn't about to stand, holding Alison so she could see, for an hour so we decided to leave. Well I decided. She was very disappointed, but didn't throw a fit. She had been practicing her signs all day to show Rachel. It was sad, but we met Brian and Ellie at Yogels and all was right with the world again!

  2. wow i don't know how you do it, you're like Tanya running around that much when you're pregnant. hahaha I didn't do nearly as much as you do on a daily basis. If I was you I probably would just stop cleaning all together until I had the baby (but then the hosue is a mess when you get back form the hospital) but I'm sure someone would be willing to come over and clean it for you before you get back home. anyways. you are a busy person w/ 2 little girls. Now I know what my future pregnancy/ies will be like haha.

  4. Wow Mandi.. Believe me, I may sound busy, but I am no where near as busy with my life outside of work as you are. I'm not looking forward to having kids and having to work at the same time that is for sure.
