ONE week older

Wow, one week gone already! Brooklynn is still such a good baby, or maybe I'm more relaxed this time around. Or maybe I know this is the last time I will be doing any of this so my perspective is different. Whatever it is, I am totally enjoying being the Mom of three perfect girls.

Our ready-to-feed, that the hospital gave us has run out, so we switched to powder. Not quite as easy on that little tummy. She wakes up at 4am each morning with a tummy ache. She is very easy to console though, so it's not that bad. (unlike Miss Ellie, whom we had to pace with and rock for hours) My Mom suggested we whip up a big batch of formula in the blender, to get it mixed up better, so we are trying that today. I mixed one days worth and put it in the fridge.

My milk came in on Sunday...I was miserable. It went away late Tuesday...I was grateful. It came back Thursday...I wanted to cry. Its going away again today. The nurses at the hospital told me to put cabbage leaves on "the girls" and it would make the pain go away (something about enlarging the capillaries and stimulating the movement of the fluid in the lymph system) Whatever - I was willing to try anything! It seemed to help, although I had to listen to Brian make fun of the "salad in my bra" for the evening :oP
Alison is doing exactly as we expected...wonderful. She loves having a baby sister. Ellie is still sick, so no new pictures of her.
This is where Brooklynn hangs out while we are eating. She seems to love the swing.
You would think the third time around I would remember to get extra pacifiers at the hospital, but nooooooo. I heard that Target has ones like this, but the hospital ones are always the best.

  3. She is so dang cute! Did you freeze the cabbage? I tried it with Chloe, didn't really work for me, the house just reeked of cabbage. I hope it goes away for you soon!

  6. Missy,
I don't know if the cabbage really worked, or if it was the cold that helped...if I had to do it again, Id just spend the $10 on the ice packs instead :o)
