Alison is in a phase where she wants her underwear to match her outfit...if she is wearing a blue dress, her undies must be blue. Weird.
She got a certificate for her last day of this session of soccer. So I told her great job and asked her if she was excited to start the summer session next week. She said she didn't want to play anymore. The world stopped and my heart fell. WHAT? Then she followed it up with "I want to play outside soccer with real uniforms and games" And I could breath again :o)
Ellie is calling me Big Giant Mommy. Can't argue with that.
She is also extra clingy (if that is possible) She wont talk to any strangers (like when they ask her age, or when she should say thank you) and freaked out at Sunday School this week. I think she knows that this baby is coming soon.
Ellie is doing awesome using the toilet to pee, but poops in her pants every time AND DOESN'T CARE. The other day I saw her pushing, so I ran over and took her pants...she cried and disappeared upstairs. She grabbed a pull up, pooped and wanted to be changed...UGH.
Looked at preschools close to the house...there is no way I can afford over $100/week which is what they want. A friend of a friend is starting a preschool and said that she can take both the girls, but it is all the way across town. I think the cost for gas will be less than tuition at a traditional preschool though. I might try it out for a few months and see how it goes. I want Alison used to the routine of "going to school" and Ellie (and Mom) needs a little time apart during the week.
Brian had his CT scan, the first step in preparation for his surgery. I'm am finely getting to be OK with all of that. I know we will be fine...me and the kids, and me and him. We always are!
I had awful contractions yesterday. They were 2 min apart then the next one would be a half hour later then 3 min then two hours. I kept wishing they would stick around, but no luck. Today...nothing. Go to the doctor tomorrow.
My biggest accomplishment though is that I made three meals in a row that the whole family ate...whoo hoo. Its a minor miracle. Not cooking tonight :o) Headed to Jodie's for another recipe exchange as soon as Brian gets home.
Ellie is sure stubborn, isn't she? She knows just what it is all about but want's it HER way! (And in her time. Don't worry, Mom, it will come.)
ReplyDeleteAs long as Alison is not asking for blue thongs it is OK.....
Love ya'
Mom
Mandi- This is Pam, Jodies friend. I wanted to thanks you for the comment you left on my blog the other day. I find great comfort in knowing someone else is feeling the preganacy nightmare too. I had contraction on Sunday for 12 hours! They were about 2 to 8 minutes apart and 30 to 90 sec. long. Then at 3 am STOPPED. I hate that. Hope the Dr. Went well:o)
ReplyDeleteWell the good thing about your contractions is that there is at least some progress there. Although no contractions feel good. Hope you get good news atthe dr.
ReplyDeleteMy heart would melt if our kids aren't into sports. That is so cute she wants to play out door soccer with real uniforms.
Not to put doubt for the future of Ellie potty training...but I'm geussing she might regress once the baby is there. You know? It seems like kids always want to be more like babies once a new baby is around. I think its because they see the baby getting a lot of attention being rocked etc. I wouldn't worry about Ellie, like your mom said she'll do it on her time.
Can't wait to hear "It's a boy!" or "It's a girl!" haha I swear its so exciting not knowing. I might not find out for any of our kids.
Greetings from a long lost cousin. Just want to say a quick hello and wish you luck with everything you have going on. Crazy schedules, toilet training, surgery-- all in your thrid trimester. You are amazing!
ReplyDeletethat is so funny her panties have to match her outfits...
ReplyDeleteyour girls are so cute!
3 meals that everyone liked.. that is a miracle. i can't even get 1 with grace anymore...
Boy I am glad Alison wants to play real soccer. I will get her real soccer shoes when that time comes.

Grandpa L.
I love that her panties have to match! That's so girlie!
ReplyDeleteyou've got two total opposites there. one that wants matching panties and one that will poo in whatever color panties. that's funny (about alison).
