The Best

I had a wonderful Mother's Day!
I woke up to the smell of breakfast already started...eggs, pancakes, bacon, and juice.
As soon as I hit the hallway Ellie came rushing up yelling "Happy Mother's Day", followed by Alison running up with cards for me.
I got downstairs and was told I "had to open my cards right away".

This was on my card from Alison and Ellie...her first attempt at a real drawing...so cute!

The next card was from their Dad which contained a gift certificate to a day spa...I don't think I could ask for a more perfect gift ;o) He also had picked me some beautiful roses for the table.

We headed off to church where they did child dedication services. So sweet to see all the little babies on stage and their parents promising to raising them in a Christ Centered home. Made me wish my little one was already here.

Brian fixed lunch and I got a little nap in with Miss Ellie, before we spent some time hanging out in the backyard.

We had planned to go out to dinner, but after calling my Mom and finding out that my Dad was BBQing tri tip, we quickly changed our minds :o) So Brian headed off to the store to buy veggies, baked potatoes, salad, watermelon, and tri tip for dinner. It was SOOOOOOO good, and I'm glad we didn't fight the crowds.

I didn't have to fix one meal, clean one dish or one poopy diaper all day. Talk about a nice break!

Thanks B and girls, it was a WONDERFUL day...I love you!!!! Thanks to my Mom who taught me how be a good Mom. Most days I think they are better for having me, and yesterday I was reminded that I am definately better for having them.

  2. What a great day! Did Brian bar-b-q the vegetables too? It looks like zucchini. We had corn on the cob, cooked inside..

Great picture by Alison. She has grown up so much.

    I'll see you on Wednesday!

    I Love you all,

    Mom/Grandma
