Just Random Stuff

~Welcome to Alison and Ellie's favorite place now...why do I buy them toys? This box and the packing material that came in it have entertained them for days. Brian cut out doors and windows, and the girls decorated it. They brought beach towels in for carpeting the floor. Too easy, I don't get it :o)

~Ive been getting great reports on Alison in each of her sports. She just got moved up in soccer and will be moved up in gymnastics as soon as there is room. I'm so glad she is having fun in both. I can see a big difference between what she is doing now and when she was in dance. She has so much more confidence and listens so much better. I'm glad we decided to change things up and have her try something else.

~Brian will be signing her up for "outdoor soccer with real uniforms and games" next Wednesday. I'm glad I looked up the website, I would have never guessed sign-ups would be so early for teams starting in Sept.
~Its AYSO, so I feel like I should volunteer to do something, but with little baby I don't want to commit to coaching or refing. What does a team Mom do? I don't remember. My Dad always coached, so my Mom never had to do that.

~At my OB appointment the doctor asked if the girls if they had any questions. Alison said "Do you know that I have a bunk bed? (not quite what he was expecting - but then she went on to say...) and I can climb up and down even in the dark, so when the baby cries I will go to her room and feed her. And my Mom will be able to sleep. And if that doesn't work you know what I am going to do? I'm going to make funny faces! Everybody laughs at my funny faces and then the baby won't cry." Note to self: Stop worrying out loud about the lack of sleep! My poor 4 year old is already figuring out ways to take care of things. Such a smart girl, and I forget how much she picks up even when I'm not talking directly to her.

  1. Wow, I guess I don't even need to come up to help. It sounds like Alison has it covered. I can't believe how considerate she is at such a young age. I noticed she said, "She". Of course I say "He". I can't wait for "It" to let us know who it is!

The Team Mom organizes the snacks (Who brings them this week and calls to remind them), the parties, etc. You get the banner made and all the litte things like that. You become the "Mother Hen".

I'll see you in a few days, I hope not before Wednesday!

    Love you,

    Mom

  2. that's so great Alison is doing well in sports, I hope Maddie likes sports. I love the playhouse, I've been thinking of one day building a playhouse for Maddie but she'd probably like to have a cardboard box playhouse better.

Alison is so smart it is hilarious to hear the things she says at your ob appointments. Tanya always wanted to write the funny things her kids do/say in a book its a good thing you have your blog to look back on the funny things your kids have done/said.

Tanya wants to start making a blog too, so if she ever finds the time she might get started one of these days.

  6. That Alison is such a cute kid! I forget how much 4 yr olds pick up too. I have to really watch what I say. I'm getting so excited and jealous that you only have a few days left!! Being team mom isn't a bad gig, especially if another mom helps you out. But you really do have an out with a new baby!

  7. I also say Boy :). I loved making forts out of card board boxes. I used to take over the apartment when I was little with sheets making forts as well. It was a lot of fun to do. Hearing all your stories, even though I know being a parent has it's difficult times. I can't wait to be one.
