Is that even a word?
*Resolutions: not ready yet...give me another week. I'm still getting picked up from Christmas and the new year hasn't hit me yet.
*Our drive home Sat after Christmas = 8.5 hours. All I can say is, thank God for DVD players.
*New Years Eve we went to a friends house with the kids to hang out and eat appetizers. I'm surprised B agreed to go. He didn't know them and its not like him to "make new friends". But we both had a good time...until he had to work. He got a call that a station in Primm was down, so we left early. He did a phone fix on the drive home, so he didn't have to go. Which was good because that drive back would have been a nightmare. We watched a movie, and then the ball drop before I passed out :o)
*A friend asked me to do a triathlon with her. Problem 1: I don't have a bike or helmet. Problem 2: It totally and completely grosses me out to swim in Lake Mead. Problem 3: it takes so much time to train - I'm already feeling like I spend a lot of time training and I'm only training for what would be 1/3 of a triathlon. Upside: it would just be awesome to do it and Id get in better shape with all the cross training.
*I'm starting a picture a day blog. So far so good. Hopefully I can make a book when I'm done.
*Speaking of books, the year is over, so time to start on my Blurb book. Maybe Ill have it finished by March. Anyone let me know if they come across any coupon codes please!
*I'd like to start another sewing project, but I'm not sure what. A blanket seems to be the next logical step, but we really don't need another blanket around here. Maybe some PJ's pants for me :o)
*The gym is going to get crazy crowded this week. But then it will slow down in about a month, and the classes will thin out. While I'm on that subject, I know I shouldn't make fun but...big guys doing Zumba is just funny to watch. Sorry, but it is.
*I'm in a dinner rut. I need to find some new dishes to throw into the rotation. Maybe I should try something new each week, then I might find a keeper by the end of the year. We are so picky and its crazy hard to find something that ALL of us like.
*Ready for next week and to get back into our regular routine. Which is weird. Usually I hate routine.
*I need a good book to read, any suggestions? I just finished The Book Thief. Not my normal reading, but it was pretty good. Not light reading though.
*One month till my race. I'm right on track, which feel really good. I did just under 8 miles yesterday with out walking.
*Alison is acting super bratty, Ellie is being good and Brooklynn is sick - AGAIN.
if randomness isn't a word... it should be.
ReplyDeleteyou're going to be so ready for your half marathon.
i'd check with blurb, i've read a couple places that they aren't doing blogger anymore. i don't know why they wouldn't. ??
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLets see, regarding books - here is what I have recently enjoyed:
"Dead until dark" by Charlaine Harris - it is the first of a series regarding Vampires mainstreaming in society - the HBO series True Blood is based on these books - much more grown up that the Twilight books.
"Maximun Ride" by James Patterson. It is a series of 4, the first is "the Angel Experiment"
these are considered YA books but so was Twilight....
I just ordered "Blood and Chocolate" that a relative suggested at Christmas. It is supposedly about a girl who is decended from Werewolves and she falls for a mortal - I will let you know how it is....
Hopefully this helps a little. I am not sure what genra of books you prefer to read :)
Im not a good source for books ;).. I'm all over the place from sci fi, fantasy to classics.. I'm currently reading Fahrenheit 451. I wish I could have your dedication and time to devote to the half marathon training. You're going to blow me out of the water that is for sure ;).
