Easter Weekend 2008

Once again, blogger is putting pictures where ever it wants...
Mom and Jeff drove out late Thursday night, from California to celebrate the weekend with us. On Friday a group of us went to the Dinosaur Park to play and have lunch (ever since we went there once the kids have been begging to go again.) My lens on my camera was acting up, so I have no pictures. It keeps focusing and focusing and never takes the picture...I guess I need to take it in to get fixed. We ran into Missy and family who were there for an Easter egg hunt. The kids looked so cute all dressed up.

From the park, we headed over to Donna's to get the girls' hair cut by Grandma Karen. Ellie's looks SO much better. Alison wanted her chopped off "like Mom's" but there is no way. For one, its so pretty blond and long, and for another, I don't want to have to blow dry and style her hair every day. Its too fine to just let it dry on its own. She was disappointed no one could notice her haircut.

Brian made reservations for Sonoma Cellar for dinner for my birthday, since we wouldn't be going out on Easter. We brought the girls, which made me a little nervous to take them to a nice steak house, but they were good. It helped that it was Good Friday, so all the non-meat eaters were home and the restaurant wasn't very crowded. It was amazing (as always)

We started Saturday at soccer practice. Ellie want to go out and play with Alison SO BAD. Alison led her off the field and Ellie was crying and crying. She won't take her own class though, she only wants to play with Al.
After Soccer, we had lunch and waited for Chad and Co. to come over. Our neighborhood has an egg hunt every year on Saturday. The girls got a ton of eggs, because they were in the first group to go out, so we had to make them stop picking up eggs, s that there would be some for other kids. They weren't too happy, but they quickly forgot about it once they started opening their eggs.

This is Ellie saying "I'm the winner!"

After the egg hunt, we went home and colored Easter eggs.

Ellie and I went down for a short nap, and then we all headed back to Donna's for her 60th birthday party. It was funny because it was a keg party and Brian and I were saying that we didn't really belong there as a pregnant girl, with a gimpy husband and two toddlers. But it was fun and we sure did enjoy all the good food.

Sunday was, as you know, Easter, but also my birthday. It has never fallen on Easter and it won't again for almost 200 years, so it was kind of cool. We went to the second service of church and after, I was baptized. The pool was out in the courtyard and it wasn't no sprinkle on your forehead - its a full dunk. (no - I didn't wear this outfit to church, I changed for the dunk:o)

I tried to get pictures of the girls in their Easter outfits, but they were not cooperating. This was the closest we could get.

After church, we went out to lunch (not a lot was open on Easter - so we ended up at a cheese steak place) then back home to pick up for Easter dinner. Mom made me peach cobbler and Karen made chocolate cupcakes for dessert. So yummy!

It was a very full and very fun weekend. I wish we had just one more day to go shopping at Town Square, but maybe next time.

  4. Happy Birthday, for some reason I have your birthday written down as today. I think I'llh ave to change it on my calendar. What a fun Easter... the girls are so cute. Oh for pictures...I've never used the blogger to upload pictures. I post them on myspace or photobucket and just use HTML to post them on here...same with the videos. I tried to upload pictures once on here and each picture was taking sooo long that I just decided to do photobucket because I can upload multiple photos at a time.
