Monday

I know no one really cares too much about all this, but I want to blog it so that it is in the blurb book Ill make at the end of the year.

Brian is doing MUCH better today. Saturday seemed to be the worst day. He said he felt like a truck hit him. His surgery leg was sore, his other leg was sore from using it exclusively and his upper body was sore from using the crutches. Yesterday was a little better, and today is much better. The leg that had surgery doesn't hurt at all and he has stopped taking his pain pills. He just has muscle pain in his upper body from using muscles he hasn't used. He is bored out of his mind (he is not one to just sit around) and is now starting to refuse help. He wants to do things on his own (ie: take a shower, fix his lunch etc). Physical therapy starts tomorrow, so I expect some pain to return, but he is really looking forward to starting and getting better.

I had a minor meltdown last night. I think everything just hit me at once. I just wanted to be by myself and took a long hot shower. It's harder than I thought to be the one to take care of things...I don't know how people do it for years on end. I started reading a book after dinner and before I knew it, it was way past the girls bedtime, so I didn't get a chance to talk to them, then it snowballed from there. Doing better to day though :o) I even made it to the gym for a little bit, which I desperately needed. I took all of last week off and I can tell. I think Ill go back tomorrow while B is at PT.

The girls are loving staying at Grandma's. They get spoiled rotten, so whats not to love. Alison is so busy, she barely has time to talk. I'm glad they are having fun and keeping busy. I'm sure Grandma will be ready to give them back at the end of the week!

  2. hey, you're entitled to meltdowns. you guys have a lot going on right now. take advantage of the girls being with grandma & grandpa and take more long showers.

glad to hear brian's doing better. i'm sure he REALLY appreciates all that you've been doing for him. he'll get to return the favor soon enough. haha

and speaking of blurb books, did you get the one you were working on finished?

  3. brian's always been an athlete hasn't he hockey etc. well he'll probably recover quickly because athletes are always determined and stubborn when it comes to those things...he probably can't wait for his body to be back to normal hha like a pregnant lady.

there's nothing wrong with taking some time off and reading a book and losing track of time, you could probably use some TLC yourself with all that is going on. make sure to take time for yourself it'll help you deal with teh stress/ etc.

oh and how do you make the blurb book at the end of the year? that sounds cool.

  5. Mandi - I'm so glad Brian is doing better and that the surgery went well. I agree with Jamie...everyone is entitled to meltdowns and I think you especially deserved to have one now. You've been juggling a lot - both physically and emotionally. I'm so glad things are on the up and up. We love you!
