During nap time today:
I turned this
into this!
to make new quilts for Brooke and Ellie's bunk beds
using this pattern:
I still need 2 more fabrics (to make 24 more squares) but the quilt store I was at last weekend didn't have any more purple that matched...Im hoping Joann's has some - that is good quilt quality! I also have the boarder fabrics, but I'm playing with the dimensions (turning a lap quilt into a twin size quilt) so I don't want to cut it until I have the blocks done and I can be sure of my math :o) I still need to buy the binding and backing (which I calculated to be 10 yards - holy expensive!!)
Right now their room is green and pink - soon, it will be green and purple with a white chair rail about 1/3 of the way down.
Since Alison is getting a whole new room when we move Brooke, I figured this was a good way to make Ellie feel special about her room too :o)
Brooke could care less!

WOW my hand would be cramping up if I were you! or did you use a roller cutter thingy.
ReplyDeleteoh yeah - i never cut fabric with scissors anymore! I actually did some of the prints this weekend - but most today. Its for 2 quilts though. I figured if i did them one at a time, the second one would never get done - lol.
ReplyDeleteyou rock the rotary cutter! still want to come learn from you some time on how to quilt. i am sure there room is going to turn out awesome.
ReplyDeletei am so jealous!!!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see the finished product. I am itching to be done with this semester so I can sew again.
