Since I was up with Brooke till 5 in the morning, Brian let me sleep in. What I didn't know is that he had been up till 2:30 with her also. The kid NEVER went to sleep until 4:30 in the morning!I had big plans to make heart shaped pancakes and pink milk...but they had already eaten when I got up. So, we all exchanged Valentines, and the girls got their gifts. I tried to stay away from candy since we already had a ton:
Alison: blanket and heart shaped pillow (for school)
Brian: a whole bunch of cycling stuff he bought - haha
Mandi: cycling shoes for spin, and they all cleaned the kitchen, playroom, family room and bedrooms before I woke up!
Ellie: Sponge Bob pajamas (she has been wanting them since she went to the hospital ;o)
Brooke: a doll and a cell phone.
Brian went for a bike ride (10 miles! and no he didn't wear the right shorts again Darric!) and I read for a little bit while the kids played.
Brian cleaned the porch in the backyard and all the kids played in the sandbox while I did a quick trip to the grocery store.
Then Ellie got sick. Then Ellie got sick again. And again. And again. (At least she is finely old enough to make it to the bathroom...most times!)
Brooke started feeling better in the afternoon, but Ellie was just getting started...no break from the flu for us!
Brian took Alison to the park (she had cabin fever with all the sickies around her and as begging "Can we pleeeeaaase go somewhere in the car?!) It was good for Alison to get out, but that left me home alone with 2 sick kids...notsofun.
We had dinner - minus Ellie who sat on the couch watching us, looking a little green. I got the kids ready for bed, and Brian did all the dishes and cleaned the kitchen again!
The kids all went to bed early (they slept on the floor, just in case. Its hard to get down from the top bunk in time ;o) - Ellie was up 2 more times, but then slept through the night
Brian and I watched the Olympics, but we even went to bed early.
Happy Valentines Day
dinner: steaks, salad, glazed carrots, cornbread muffins (shaped like hearts)
PS: So far Alison is fine...keeping my fingers crossed!
